Located in the South West of Scotland, Ayr is ideal for exploring the rolling hills of Ayrshire whilst taking the opportunity to visit the wonderful city of Glasgow.

Ayr is located right in the heart of Burns country, near the world famous Brig o’ Doon but it is the world famous golf course found the Ayrshire coast that draws people from all over the world. Away from the greens and fairways, Ayr offers fantastic views of the Irish Sea and of the nearby Ailsa Craig and the Isle of Arran, which can be reached by the nearby ferry.

For those who enjoy walks along the seafront, the Esplanade at Ayr offers stunning views, access to the sandy beach and miles of flat walking.

Ayr is home to the Scottish Grand National race meeting at the Ayr Racecourse which hosts meeting throughout the year. Football and Rugby League is also popular in the ton with Ayr United and Ayr Knights both popular.

Getting to Ayr couldn’t be simply with A roads linking the town to the M74 (England) and the M77 (Glasgow). Ayr also has its own train and bus stations with numerous connections via Glasgow.

The adjoining town of Prestwick is home to Glasgow Prestwick International Airport.

Ayr and the surrounding area are home to many fabulous attractions including Ayr sandy beach. The heads of Ayr Farm Park is popular with children and is located right next door to Craig Tara.

The Burns National Heritage Park explores the life of the famous poet and the stunning Culzean Castle is well worth a day visit.
