Scarborough Caravan Holidays

Scarborough, on Yorkshires East Coast, can claim to be one of the oldest holiday resorts in the UK and whilst many seaside resorts have fallen into decline Scarborough keeps prospering and offering a wide range of attractions, clean sandy beaches and good shopping that makes Scarborough so popular as a holiday destination.

The main town of Scarborough sits at the top of a stunning cliff complete with formidable looking castle, and this is where to town’s main shopping district can be found as well a good range of bars, restaurants and the town’s theatre.

It is, however, at the bottom of the cliff that attracts most holidaymakers as this is where the town really comes to life.

Split into 2 sweeping bays, both with sandy beaches and joined together by a promenade, Scarborough seafront is a Mecca for holidaymakers especially when the sun comes out.

The South Bay is the busier of the 2 bays and is home to the resorts amusement arcades, spa, gardens, and Scarborough’s Marina and harbour and tourist git shops.

The North Bay is the quieter of the 2 but it often where you can find the locals enjoying the quieter beach as well as walking along the promenade at the foot of the Castle, which sits at the top of the cliffs in the middle of the 2 bays.

The North Bay is also home to Scarborough’s Sea Life Centre, a sea front miniature railway and the still popular Peasholme Park.

Further afield Flamingo Land, Eden Camp, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and Whitby are all easily reached from Scarborough.
